RAAN05 Alaska's Mountains and Coast by Rail – Alaska Railroad Tour

The  major  attraction  is  the  Prince William Sound Wildlife  &  Glacier  Cruise,  which  on  a  clear  day  will  be  a  trip  that  you  would  remember  forever! Continue to the historic town of Talkeetna and the most popular Denali National Park. Travel north from Anchorage on board the last full-service railroad in North America and choose between the “Adventure Class” seating in the one-storey railway car or the “Deluxe Dome Railcar” on board the Alaska Railroad or with one of the privately operated trains. Overnight in the quaint town of Talkeetna, located at the confluence of the Chulitna, Susitna and Talkeetna Rivers and known for scenic flightseeing tours to Mt. Denali. Joe, FL: Belated thanks for organizing a great trip. We took another look at our pics last night and miss Alaska already. If I can ever serve as a positive reference, please let me know. It was great! A highlight of our tour was the Prince William Sound cruise. This tour took us out to Surprise Glacier which we got surprisingly close to. We got to see tons of other glaciers along the way and we had a park ranger aboard so we got tons of facts about the glaciers and surrounding landscape and wildlife. We got to see the glacier calve twice - which is pretty cool, however, it happens so quickly that you don't get a chance to video it. Along the way we saw a raft of otters, 3 black bears, and a bunch of floating salmon.
