RMAN03 Alaska’s Glaciers & Grizzlies - Rail & Coach Combo Tour from Anchorage

This 6-day scenic Alaska Railroad and coach vacation will give you a wonderful introduction to the natural wonders of Alaska - combining the popular Kenai Fjords and Denali National Park with the untamed wilderness of the interior. You  start  in  Anchorage,  which  is  filled  with  lot  of  adventures  along  with  metropolitan  amenities.  With  thousands  of  moose,  very  many  national  parks  nearby  and  60  glaciers  in  a  quick  drive  away,  it's  one  of  the  best  places  to  start  your  vacation. Experience Alaska's most spectacular train route on board the Coastal Classic Train to Seward on the Kenai Peninsula. Choose between the “Adventure Class” seating in the single-storey railway car or the “Deluxe Dome Railcar” on board the Alaska Railroad or with one of the privately operated trains. Relax on the train and see glaciers, snow-capped peaks, lakes and wildlife. Seward  is  situated  at  the  head  of  Resurrection  Bay  on  the  Kenai  Peninsula  and  it  is  one  of  Alaska’s  oldest  and  most  scenic  communities. Board the stable catamaran for a spectacular cruise deep into Kenai Fjords National Park with actively "calving" glaciers and magnificent scenery. Covering 110-miles, the trip is narrated by a National Park Ranger, who is highly adept at spotting wildlife and pointing out the many sights. Travel north to Denali by motorcoach. The Parks Highway offers spectacular scenery and you will appreciate the comfortable seating, generous legroom, and large picture windows of the custom motorcoaches. Your knowledgeable bus driver-guide will offer tour highlights along the route, and ample photo and restroom stops will be made. Denali National Park is one of Alaska’s most popular attraction and natural habitat for many types of wildlife including caribou, moose, wolves, Dall sheep, bald eagles, and the mighty grizzly bears. It is most likely you will spot some of them while taking our full day Denali Transit Bus to Eielson Center, Wonder Lake or Kantishna Roadhouse. Your final destination will be the gold rush town of Fairbanks where you are invited to explore Fairbanks gold rush history, its vibrant traditional native cultures and the fantastic scenery of the northern arctic region. A guided van tour along the Dalton Highway or a flightseeing tour to the Arctic Circle is a popular choice for experiencing the Arctic Circle and Yukon River. On request, this trip can be  customized and organized in reverse order.

Tom, Spokane: I'm sending you some photos of our rail and motorcoach trip in Alaska last July. If it would be possible - we'd love to start again right away. The vacation from the coast of Alaska to the interior was just great and we enjoyed it fully. Our driver guide and host onboard the train conveyed lots of information, alone we would not have learned nearly half about the country and its people. Their knowledge about the animal world and the behaviour of the animals was incredible. We would like to return one day and explore more of your beautiful state. Greetings, Tom
