NLFT04 Arctic Circle Aurora Viewing Tour

NLFT04 Arctic Circle Aurora Viewing Tour

The polar lights are a phenomenon that takes place all year round. But in summer, when the sun hardly sets or does not set at all, they are practically invisible. This is quite different in winter, when the Northern Lights put on a breathtaking show on dark, clear nights. Although the Aurora Borealis can also be seen in the cities, the best way to see the Northern Lights is far away from towns, especially the area around Fairbanks and the Arctic Circle are considered the strongholds. Join our Arctic Circle tour and experience the famous northern arctic region above the Arctic Circle. We follow the Dalton Highway, which has also become known to us through the "Ice Road Trucker" series, in the direction of the Arctic Circle. During the trip your guide will introduce you to the history of Alaska and the peculiarities of life in Alaska. Enjoy the impressive landscape of Central Alaska, such as the Yukon River, Finger Mountain or the Trans Alaska Pipeline and look out for moose, lynx and foxes that are at home here. Your guided tour includes the overnight in Coldfoot. The hotel is rustic by urban standards, the hotel is clean and each room has a private bath, a luxury in the wilderness. At night admire the natural spectacle of the aurora borealis with its colourful shining veils.

David, Long Island: We took this trip mid march and it was phenomenal! Our group was 7 people and we traveled in a small comfortable bus up the Dalton Highway. We had a wonderful driver/guide who was so knowledgeable we all called him "Normapedia". The Slate Creek Inn at Coldfoot where we stayed was"rustic" but very clean and the food was quite good. The sights were a wonder to behold and our guide was more than willing to accommodate us and stop whenever we wanted to see something. Antigun Pass is beyond words and this trip is a must see at least once in your life. If you like to just enjoy the majesty of nature, this is the way to do it. We had one evening where we saw spectacular northern lights !
